Prerequisites
-
You must have created at least one Asset.
-
You must have a QR Tag (physical or digital).
Method 1: Scan QR Tag (Recommended)
The easiest way to attach a tag is to scan it directly from the asset page.
-
Navigate to the Assets page and click on the asset you want to tag.
-
In the asset details view, scroll down to the Attached Tags section.
-
Click the Scan QR Tag button (QR code icon).
-
If asked, grant camera permissions to your browser.
-
Point your camera at the QR tag.
-
The system will automatically detect the tag and link it to your asset.

Method 2: From the Tags Page
If you have digital tags or can't scan right now:
-
Navigate to the Tags page.
-
Find an unattached tag in your list (look for "No Asset" or use the filter).
-
Click the Attach Asset button on the tag card.
-
Select the asset you want to link from the dropdown list.
-
Click Confirm.
How to Detach a Tag
If you want to move a tag to a different asset:
-
Go to the Asset Details page.
-
Find the tag in the Attached Tags list.
-
Click the menu button (three dots) next to the tag.
-
Select Detach Tag.
-
Confirm that you want to remove the link.
Warning: Once detached, scanning the tag will no longer show your asset's information until you attach it to something else.
Common Issues
Problem: "Camera permission denied"
Solution: Check your browser settings and ensure you've allowed MyTags to access your camera.
Problem: "Tag already attached"
Solution: A tag can only be linked to one asset at a time. You must detach it from the old asset before attaching it to a new one.
